What works without internet and how your devices stay in sync
Does ellume work without internet?
Partly. ellume keeps a copy of your data on your device, so much of your daily work runs offline. Anything that uses AI, images or files needs a connection.
- Viewing, creating, editing and deleting clients
- Importing clients from your contacts
- The calendar and your appointments
- Transactions, recurring transactions and categories
- Notes
- The dashboard
- Search
- The list of your AI chats
- Settings
- Signing in
- The AI assistant, including voice input
- Creating and editing images
- Scanning receipts
- Enhance and dictation in notes
- Opening a past AI chat
- The Gallery
- A client's Files and Creations tabs, including uploads
- Saving a client's signature
- Uploading the consent document
- Changing the Push Notifications switch
- Managing your subscription
- Deleting your account
ellume does not show an offline indicator. If a feature needs internet and you are offline, it does not work. Some features show an error message, others show nothing or an empty list.
How does sync work?
When you are online, ellume uploads your changes and downloads changes from your other devices in the background. You do not need to start a sync.
When you sign in and your data is not on the device yet, for example on a new device or after logging out, ellume shows Syncing your data... while it downloads your data.
If the same detail is changed on two devices, the change that syncs last is kept.
Which settings stay on one device?
These are saved on the device only and do not sync:
- The order of the dashboard cards
- Appearance
- Whether amounts are hidden in Finances
- Recently opened search results
- The guided tours you have already seen
Language and currency are saved to your account. The Push Notifications switch applies to the current device only.
What happens when I log out?
Logging out while online removes your data from the device. It stays in your account and downloads again when you sign in.
Before you log out, go online and give ellume a moment to upload changes you made offline. Logging out does not wait for them.
